Anton Lan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Cape Town, having also completed a study of philosophy. Anton has worked in various executive positions in the telecommunication, internet and multimedia sectors, with experience gained locally and abroad. Anton has also served as a management committee member of WASPA (Wireless Application Service Provider Association). At present he is the business development director responsible for Altech UEC’s Digital Terrestrial Television focus in South Africa and Africa. As a member of the Digital Dzonga, he serves on numerous working groups, drawing on his international set top box experience. Anton has been assisting government in formulating their vision for the broadcast digital migration programme in South Africa and is a staunch advocate of promoting and developing local intellectual property and skills to expand the South African ICT sector.
